My
history as a Licensed Clinical Social
Worker
and psychotherapist has been one of dedication to working with clarity, heart and
good humor, for the purpose of facilitating insight and positive life change
with
all of my clients. Today I am most interested in an intuitive and creative process
that leans into awareness, feeling, and active elements of
transformative work. I consider it a
privilege to witness courageous individuals
create peaceful and productive lives.
I have been working in the
field of personal growth and mental health for over thirty-five years. I
have training and practice in traditional Psychotherapy and Narrative
Therapy, Eating Awareness, Movement-based modalities, Yoga, Shiatsu, Polarity
Therapy and more. Years ago I partnered
in creating a wholistic health education and treatment center in Rochester, NY,
and in developing the Heartwork process
for
“creating a safe space for quiet and deep looking into the heart of the
matter."
I designed and facilitated Woman’s
Journey,
a series of retreats, workshops, and groups for women,
to focus on
the reclamation of those aspects of the feminine nature that have been lost
across the centuries. This array of experience richly informs my
worldview and the responses that arise when I sit with people.
In the more personal parts
of my life, I enjoy many things: family, friendship, making fused glass jewelery,
other creative endeavors,
anything outdoors (hiking, biking, golf, paddling, snowplay), NIA movement
classes (taught by Jane Pagano), Yoga, books, films, music, travel, the sun. I feel
incredibly fortunate.
I hold a B.A. from
Muhlenberg College, and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the State
University of New York at Buffalo. I maintain my status as a Licensed Clinical
Social Worker in New York State.
